SBTi
The Sikla Group is clearly committed to climate protection and is currently working intensively on validating its climate targets as part of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
The Science Based Targets initiative is a globally recognized framework that helps companies define their emission reduction targets in line with the latest scientific findings on climate change. The goal is to limit global warming to well below 2°C—ideally to 1.5°C.
We are currently in the process of developing and submitting our targets to the initiative. This step is part of our comprehensive sustainability strategy and a clear commitment to a climate-friendly future.
We will keep you up to date and communicate our progress transparently.
Environmental actions
Newspaper Forest Campaign 2024
Sikla actively supported this campaign as a way to make a local contribution to climate protection. It was carried out in the district of Waldshut under the motto “Together for the Black Forest.” A total of 30,000 trees were planted.
In April 2024, we were able to participate in the tree planting campaign in Ühlingen-Birkendorf. Sikla contributed 850 trees, symbolizing the 850 employees in our group of companies. Ten hard-working employees were there on site.
“Cycle to Work” campaign
Since 2024, we have been participating annually in the AOK “Cycle to Work” campaign. This enabled us to save an impressive 550 kg of CO2 in 2024.
Energy Scouts training
Our young talents are given the opportunity to participate in the IHK-certified “Energy Scouts” training program. The aim is to introduce trainees to the topic of sustainability.
Introduction of waste compactors
Thanks to the initiative of one of our employees, we have purchased a waste compactor that compresses industrial waste into a smaller volume. This means that more waste can be transported in a single truckload, which reduces the frequency of trips and unnecessary transport of air.
Wildflower meadow
Some Young Talents took the initiative and created a flower meadow at our site in Schwenningen. It is maintained by our Young Talents and promotes insect diversity in the region.
In 2024, over 55% of the energy consumed by the Sikla Group was already renewable energy.
The company's own buildings are gradually being equipped with solar panels to contribute to the energy transition.

We source our goods as close to the market as possible. We source more than 80% of our goods in Europe, thereby reducing transport distances and emissions.
Some of our products can be dismantled and reused. The service life of our products is designed to match the overall service life of the systems or buildings in which they are installed. It is possible to recycle the products at the end of their service life.
Our Supplier Code of Conduct outlines the standards and expectations we uphold across our supply chain to ensure responsible, ethical, and sustainable business practices.
