Modular steel solutions for plant equipment, walkways and services
Modular steel solutions for plant equipment, walkways and services
Sikla understands the challenges you experience ahead of installing services and equipment to the roof of your project such as structural issues, preventing damage to the roof membrane, access for maintenance and distributing weight over a large surface.
With an increasing amount of equipment required to be placed on the roof for safety, it’s integral to have secure and stable supports, which are non-penetrative, for:
Plant equipment (AHU, chillers, generators, air conditioning)
Mechanical, electrical and plumping services (pipework, ducting)
Access platforms and walkways
Solar panels
Louvre Screens
This is where Sikla’s bespoke design and prefabrication packages ensure your project is not only safe but saves you time and money.
Quick and safe assembly due to no hot works required to assemble
Compliant with ISO 14001 to ensure environmentally responsible practices
Hot-dip galvanised to C4
per EN ISO 1461
Minimal components required and available
off-the-shelf
With Sikla’s modular steelwork solutions, the possibilities of creating the right support solution are endless. We can support you with:
Design integration
Bespoke structural analysis plus seismic, wind and snow calculations

For many years, Sikla has been supplying to top tier contractors within the Irish Pharmaceutical, Data Centres and Building services industries. Common applications, featured within each of these industries, are rooftop supports specifically HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) units to evenly distribute the weight across flat or pitched roofs. Having the weight distributed ensures that the unit functions to its full capacity and the maintenance of the system can be easily maintained.

When siFramo was introduced in 2006, Building Services was not exactly what Sikla had in mind as a market. Nevertheless, the product system has succeeded in such projects. This article is to explain why. Since the Building Services industry is the only industry that finds siFramo occasionally expensive, this is also a reminder of where and when the product should be used or, to address the cost argument, where it should rather not be used. I have put the applications where siFramo offers a benefit in HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical installation projects in two categories: 1) Where – areas within the project and 2) When – circumstances around the project. So let us get started:

Rooftop walkways are required on the majority of Building Services projects for a safe way of passage around AHU’s, Chillers etc. and for maintenance access. Sikla have been working on the development & design of modular steel prefabricated walkway systems for many years (within Europe and most recently also into UK projects). So why has it been a success? Why should you build a prefabricated walkway system with siFramo? Because it makes your planning easier and it brings flexibility onsite! I will show you how, keep reading.
